Are you planning to travel to South India? Here are some places to be on our bucket list:

When you are planning to south India, you must keep in mind some of the factors like weather, as it will be hot and humid in summer. The best season to visit South India is winter from October to February. So, if you are planning an exciting journey brace yourself whether you are coming from North India or from a different country. We will provide the list of places you should check out during your visit. There are a total of 5 states in South India and we will provide you the list of places in alphabetical order. So, let’s hop and enjoy your holiday:


1. Andhra Pradesh:

Andhra Pradesh is also known as "Andhra" or "Andhra Rashtram" and it is a southeastern coastal region. The main cities in Andhra Pradesh are Vishakapatnam, Vijayawada, and Tirupati. Here the list of places you can check out in Andhra Pradesh:

On the list top place in Andhra Pradesh is Visakhapatnam with its beaches and hill stations. This place has all to offer for a family vacation and the best time to visit is the winter season. you can go to nearby places like Araku, Borra caves, and Simhachalam temple.


Vijayawada: Kanaka Durgamma temple, kondapalli toys

Tirupati: Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple, Chandragiri Fort

Kakinada: Coringa wildlife sanctuary ( Mangrove forests )


2. Karnataka:

Karnataka is a southwest state in India with the Arabian sea coastline. Bengaluru is the largest city and capital with a high-tech hub known for shopping and nightlife. Mysore, on the other side home to lavish temples including Mysore Palace. Here is the list of places you must check out :

Bangalore: Nightlife, shopping malls, Bangalore place, and Nandi hills (For day outing).

Mysore: Mysore palace, Sriranga Patna, Sri Chamundeshwari Temple.

Hampi: Hampi Archeological Ruins, Sree Virupaksha Temple (In Hampi, there are a lot of historical sites to visit and it's a UNESCO world heritage site.)

Coorg: Referred to as "Scotland of India" and known for its beaches, the famous Omkareshwar Temple is dedicated to the deity Shiva.


3. Kerala:

Kerala is the state with the highest literacy in India and known for palm-lined beaches and backwaters, a network of canals. There are a lot of things to do in Kerala like a houseboat experience for a night, local food, and friendly people. Here is the list of places to see in Kerala:

Kochi: It's the financial capital and tourism destination for Kerela. The top places you can see here are the Mattancherry Palace, Willingdon Island, etc.,

Alappuzha: Best known for houseboat cruises along the rustic backwaters, a network of canals and lagoons.

Thiruvananthapuram: The capital city of Kerala and also known as Trivandrum. Places you can see are the famous Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple, Napier museum.

Other places: Wayanad, Thekkady, Palakkad and Munnar.


4. Tamilnadu:

Tamilnadu is framed for its Dravidian style for Hindu Temples. It is one of the states with high GDP contributors to the Indian economy. As per Tamilnadu Hindu Endowment Board, there are nearly 38615 temples in the state. Nearly 33000 Temples are 800 to 5000 years old are scattered all over the state. Chennai is the capital and financial hub of Tamilnadu. Here are the places you must check out during your visit:


Chennai: Marine beach, Lighthouse to get a full view of the beach, Mahabalipuram (UNESCO world heritage site), T. Nagar for shopping, and other malls.

Madurai: The famous Meenakshi Amman Temple on the banks of the Vaigai river dated back to the 6th century.

Coimbatore: Subramanya Swamy Temple, Dhyanalinga (Yoga& Meditation center)

Other places: Kanyakumari, Ooty, Rameshwaram.


5. Telangana:

The last state in the list is Telangana, Hyderabad is the capital of Telangana and financial hub for the state. Hyderabad has a lot to historical, cultural, and religious tourists. Its a mix of different cultures and religions and surprisingly, there are no world heritage sites listed by UNESCO in Hyderabad. Here are the few places to be on your bucket list:

Hyderabad- Charminar, Qutb Shahi Tombs, Chowmahalla Palace, Salarjung Museum, Mecca masjid, and Buddha Statue.

Warangal- One of the neighboring city to Hyderabad, Thousand Pillar Temple, and Warangal Fort are recommended sites to visit.

Other places: Bhuvanagiri Fort, Gnana Saraswathi Temple- Basara, and Bhadrachalam.
